What You’ll Do:

As Program Director (part time), you will report to the Senior Pastor and support MCCDC’s dynamic mission and growing congregation by supporting our ministry leaders in their efforts to enrich and expand our church’s programming.


Your efforts will be key to realizing our aspiration to become a more visible spiritual force in the District/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area, renowned for our vibrant worship services and creative worship arts programs.


To succeed in this role, you’ll need to engage, encourage, inspire, and motivate people. You must have exceptional communication skills and be an effective “recruiter,” leading vocal outreach to both church members and the general public, both existing and new volunteers. We also need you to proactively drive greater collaboration between MCCDC’s ministries. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Worship Arts (Choir, Dance, Drama, Eclectic Praise, Sound Board)
  • Worship Support (Communion Celebrants, Communion Servers and Holders, Hospitality, Information Station, Scripture Readers, Ushers)
  • Communications (Audio Visual, Live Streaming, Social Media)






  • Expand church programming by growing and inspiring a cross-ministry network of volunteers who advance the church’s mission internally and externally
  • Develop support systems to assist both new and long-time members “find their place” in MCCDC’s ministries, matching people’s talents with appropriate roles
  • Develop and lead trainings and workshops for Ministry Leaders, such as conflict management, motivating volunteers, project management and similar offerings
  • Lead monthly support and coordination meeting for Ministry Leaders
  • Help Ministry Leaders recruit volunteers and donations for their ministries
  • Assess morale in the ministries and proactively address conflicts or frustrations
  • Offer appreciation, encouragement, feedback, and support to Ministry Leaders and — together with the pastors — effectively address their ministries’ concerns
  • Review and coordinate ministry announcements in printed and online media
  • Help Ministry Leaders articulate accomplishments, budget requests, etc. for the Senior Pastor to report to the congregation and Board
  • Participate in (and help plan) various weekly, quarterly and annual meetings




  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Experience managing and motivating unpaid volunteers
  • Managerial experience with a demonstrated “humble servant leader” mindset
  • Experience in project management and conflict management
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity


Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working for a non-profit religious organization
  • Experience planning, creating and marketing programming opportunities
  • College degree in human resources, non-profit management, communications, etc. or equivalent work or military service
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required



You will work up to 20 hours per week. Compensation and schedule are negotiable.
