The Governing Board has after reviewing applications and conducting extensive interviews with both lay and clergy members from around the world,   has selected three capable candidates to serve as the Governing Board Nominating Committee (GBNC) through General Conference 2022.
Please join us in congratulating the following persons as they are charged to do this work of the Governing Board Nominating Committee per the UFMCC Bylaws Article V.E.4.d.:
- GOVERNING BOARD NOMINATING COMMITTEE: The Governing Board shall appoint a 504 Governing Board Nominating Committee of three (3) persons. The Moderator shall serve as a consultant to the Governing Board Nominating Committee. The responsibility of the Governing Board Nominating Committee is to actively solicit candidates for the position, review any and all applications, and select qualified candidates. The qualified candidates shall be presented to the General Conference for election. UFMCC Bylaws Effective 02 July 2019.

Rev. Stuart Sutherland
MCC Good Shepherd
Stuart comes from Sydney, Australia and is the Assistant Pastor at MCC Good Shepherd Sydney Australia. He has been a Member and Vice Moderator of MCC Good Shepherd, Sydney for the past 10 years. He holds a Bachelor of Theology from the United Theological College, Charles Sturt University, Sydney Australia and a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney. In 2017 he was appointed as a Tribunal Member of the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Stuart brings his passion and love for MCC and his previous experience as an alternate member on the Moderator Nominator Committee He has a love for MCC, is guided by the Spirit and has an interest in mission and evangelism. In his spare time he goes hiking in Sydney National Parks and enjoys gardening, especially Australian wildflowers. He has been with his partner, Michael Sellen for 20 years, they have two children Lucy and Ruby, a dog, Fido and a budgie called Teddy.
Janet Fitzsimmons has been a member of MCC Toronto since 1989 and has served as a lector, facilitator and lay minister during her tenure there. She is currently engaged in the LEAD program. Drawing upon two decades of professional community development experience, and bringing a passion for transformational learning, Janet designs and delivers opportunities to build and enhance the impact that individuals can have when they work together for justice. She lives in Toronto with her wife, Rev. Deana Dudley, three very entitled cats and one slightly disgruntled labradoodle.

Jo-Anne is a member of MCC Baltimore and has been a member of MCC since 2011. She has served in various leadership positions at MCC Baltimore and is a graduate of MCC’s LEAD (Laity Empowered for Active Discipleship) Program. Jo-Anne has a heart for God’s people and a desire to serve beyond the walls of the local church, to be able to serve and make a greater impact on a global level.
