Celebrate MCC’s 51st Anniversary:
“Invest in MCC’s Future”
with a Special Offering in October
Metropolitan Community Churches has a powerful future.
Consider our Fellowship’s humble beginnings: More than 50 years ago, 12 people met in Rev. Troy Perry’s home to worship. Little did he know he was setting into motion what would become a global movement with over churches and ministries in 33 countries. Since the first service, MCC sparked a spiritual revolution and has been at the vanguard of the civil and human rights movements by addressing important issues such as race, gender, age, sexuality, ableism, and other forms of oppression. On Fellowship Sunday, the vision and historic significance of Rev. Troy Perry’s life and ministry will be honoured by the Smithsonian Institution. What a fitting tribute to MCC’s Founder.
Now it is our turn to carry the transforming message of God’s all-inclusive love to a whole new generation. We can honour Rev. Perry best by continuing the work that he started over the next 50 years.
God has provided more than enough work for us to do around the world.
I believe we can achieve this through your prayers, faithful giving and support, as we begin this new chapter in the life of Metropolitan Community Churches.
Annually, MCC churches and individuals have celebrated Fellowship Sunday (also known as Anniversary Sunday). It is our opportunity as a community to make an additional offering to support the work of the Fellowship. This year, your offering in October will support my recent initiative, “Invest in MCC’s Future.” Fifty (50) percent of each donation will go to a designated fund to really invest in our future. The remainder of the donation will support MCC’s general fund.
Donations to “Invest in MCC’s Future” will develop a programme to identify and mentor our young leaders around the world. It will continue the work of the Governing Board with specialist support on governance. It will also provide programming at Network gatherings to support the ministry of our local churches. There is so much that we can do together, when we build on our strengths.
MCC’s future is dependent on the support of churches and individuals.
Become a Pacesetter and take an offering in October to honor MCC’s anniversary and to invest in its future!
