2017 Advent Resources

posted in: 2017, Advent | 0

This year’s MCC Advent Resources are being offered through the incredible generosity of MCC of Greater St. Louis, who are graciously sharing their Advent Series, A HOLY DARKNESS.

For all of us, we know the experience of being in the dark. And for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, Advent falls in the time of the darkening weeks of December leading up to the shortest night of the year, the Winter Solstice.

This series is about how God may be more present in darkness than we ever realized…

When we turn off all the lights and get over our fear of the dark,
we can be surprised by all the ways God will show up!

These resources will include:

  • Advent Wreath Lighting Litanies for each Sunday
  • Scripture and Contemporary Reading Suggestions
  • Sample Sermons for each Sunday and Christmas Eve
  • Two complete book studies for:
    • Learning to Walk in the Dark by Barbara Brown Taylor
    • Cavedweller by Dorothy Allison

In order to access the resources, go to  https://www.mccgsl.org/store/advent2017 to download the series for free until the end of 2017.
Add “A Holy Darkness” Advent Series to the cart. When you go to the cart and checkout, you will give an email address to which a digital download will be sent. Materials will be in folders by week.

Translations will be available soon.

MUCH THANKS to MCC of Greater St. Louis and their team for making this possible!
