2003 Intensive in the Practice of MCC Ministry

Join us in 2003:
The Intensive in the Practice of UFMCC Ministry is held every year and is an important part of your experience as a clergy candidate.

MCC embraces many expressions of Christianity, spirituality, sexuality and gender through our Global ministry. At Ministry Intensives we create a learning environment in which future Clergy can experience and celebrate the diverse realities of MCC the communities we are called to serve. You’ll meet colleagues from around the world who, like you, are preparing for ministry. 

Logistics:
You will need to contact the hotel directly and make your own reservations.

 Rooms are $72 per night for 1- 2 people.  Please contact them directly to make your reservation; you must make your reservation by June 16, 2003 in order to get the special rate that we’ve negotiated with the hotel.  You can check out Holiday Inn’s website www.sixcontinentshotels.com for more information about the hotel.  The hotel provides a shuttle to any destination within a 5 miles radius, giving students easy access to a variety of restaurants and stores. 

Schedule:
Each day will begin and end with a chapel service, led by instructors and student groups. You must be present for all class sessions to complete the program.  Do not schedule flights leaving before 3:00 pm. on Tuesday, July 15.

- Monday, July 7, 7:00pm – 9:00pm.
- Tuesday, July 8, 8:30am – 5:00pm.  7:00 – 9:00pm.
- Wednesday, July 9, 8:30am – 5:00pm. optional eve event
- Thursday, July 10, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
- Friday, July 11, 8:30am – 5:00 pm. optional eve event
- Saturday, July 12, 1:30pm. – 4:30pm. and evening activities
- Sunday, July 13, Various times (church visits) & 6pm-8pm.
- Monday, July 14, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
- Tuesday, July 15, 8:30am – 12:00 noon

Select one of the following 2 books: after reading it, select a passage that you would use for preaching and a parallel passage from the Bible:

Write a 2-5 page paper on each of the following topics:

Tuition for the Intensive is $600;
students coming from outside of North America should contact the office of Leadership Development for a reduction in tuition based on the cost of travel to the program. 
Tuition covers the costs of putting on the program and does not include travel, housing or food.  You must be a clergy candidate, or have completed candidacy, at the time of the program in order to participate.
