General Conference is fast approaching. It's only nine weeks away! In order for you to adequately prepare for the business meeting, the Business Meeting Packet is available on the MCC website today!  Bryan Parker and the Lay Ministry Council
Plan to arrive early on Monday, July 2, 2007  as Bryan Parker and members of the Lay Ministry Council host a forum on "What Do Lay Delegates Do?" The session is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM. You will hear explanations about the awesome responsibility of lay delegates and clergy delegates during general conference and throughout the year.

Where does one sit?  How does one cast a vote?  How does one get to speak?  What are we going to talk about?  What else do I need to know to be prepared for the business meeting?  Come and get a sneak preview of what to expect at the business meeting. Business meetings are among the most important aspects of general conferences! Help determine the direction and governance of your our fellowship and the ministry of MCC. In Scottsdale, Arizona, you will be voting on several important issues. So, whether you are clergy or lay delegate, come make your voice and that of your congregation heard!

 

 SCHEDULE AND MEETING AGENDA  

There's so much information to share with you. Please see our website for the business schedule and meeting agenda for Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3. Begin Tuesday morning with the Business Forum. At 1 PM the General Conference will consider Amendments to the Conference Procedures Manual. At 2:45 PM we will consider MCC Bylaw Amendment Proposals. A meeting of the Board of Pensions (USA) will convene at 4:45 PM for clergy and lay delegates. This is just a sample of all that will be occurring during the business day on Tuesday.
