IN THIS ISSUE:

l

Rev. Dr. Cindi Love
Our Conference theme, "Building on Hope, Creating Our Future," expresses the unique situation in which we find ourselves as a movement and ministry. There are more and more people throughout the world who lift up MCC as a beacon of hope. The demands for our support of the most disenfranchised and oppressed are growing. At the same time, our local churches are going through lots of growing pains, and they need many types of resources and support. We are in a moment of very real creative tension as we prioritize our work. Indeed, "we are at the front edges of the greatest transformation of the church that has occurred for 1600 years. It is by far the greatest change that the church has ever experienced in America; it may eventually make the Reformation look like a ripple in a pond."  Loren B. Mead, The Once and Future Church, (The Alban Institute, 1991), p.68.
