Rev. Kharma Amos

 

Rev. Kharma R. Amos received her Master's of Divinity Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster , PA ; she is currently a student in the Doctor of Ministry program at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge , MA . Kharma has been affiliated with MCC churches in Oklahoma , Oregon , Pennsylvania , and Virginia since 1991, and was Ordained into the Ministry of Metropolitan Community Churches in May, 2002. Kharma was called to serve MCC NOVA as Interim Pastor in September of 2002, and has been serving as fulltime Pastor of MCC NOVA since August of 2003.

A native of Missouri/Oklahoma, Kharma currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with her partner of 8 years, Kala Payne, their two dogs (Sarah and Jessie), and cat, Winston. In addition to her passionate interest in progressive spirituality, MCC’s broad array of social justice activities, and queer theory, Kharma is an avid lover of music, reading, Birkenstocks, and the Vicar of Dibley. She is committed to lifelong learning, laughing every day, and trying not to take herself too seriously.
