2          Minutes of the last meeting

The Board approved the minutes of August meeting.  The September Conference Call minutes will be presented to the next call.

3.         ED Report

The ED reported on the financial position as we move into the last Quarter. We are below budgeted income $110,859 as of end of September.  We are over budget for expenses by $58,806.  This gives us a deficit $136,293.  If this trend continues over next Quarter the denomination will end the year with around a deficit of around $200,000 between income and expenditure.  Tithe income remains good but our general development income remains below budget.  The ED and her team were doing what they can to minimise expenditure.  The Board accepted the financial reports.

4.         Property Matters

The Board further discussed the possible sale of the West Hollywood property and concluded, after reviewing options, that it was in the best interests of both UFMCC and MCC LA that consideration be given to the offers received to purchase the property.

5.         Housing Allowance Motion – Rev Elder Glenna Shepherd

Whereas, Section 107 of the Internal Revenue Code permits a minister of the gospel to exclude from gross income (in computing federal income taxes) a church-designated allowance paid to him or her as part of his or her compensation to the extend used for actual expenses in owning or renting a home; and

Whereas, the following list of personnel are compensated by the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches exclusively for services as ministers of the gospel and the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches; and

Whereas, the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches does not provide parsonages to the following ministers; therefore it is hereby

Resolved, that the total compensation paid in 2006 to the following ministers shall include housing allowances as indicated pursuant to section 107 of the Internal Revenue Code; and it is further

Resolved that the designation of the following housing allowance shall apply to the calendar year 2007 from 27 October 2007 and all future years unless otherwise provided.

                        Rev Elder Glenna Shepherd       $34,800
