MCC Church Planting

Church Planting Welcome to the MCC Church Planting home page.  The Board of Elders has made Church Planting a priority for MCC, as we seek to reach out to the LGBT people across the world.  The Church Planting Initiative has been formed to mobilize a denomination-
wide vision and a plan for church planting.  This is an exciting time in our movement and it is our prayer that you will find a way to partner with us to make our vision a reality.  ~Rev. Elder Arlene Ackerman, Chair, MCC Church Planting Initiative (see who serves on our team)

Our Vision
To partner with and support our local churches, pastors, and regions to plant 50 Metropolitan Community Churches globally in 10 years, starting in 2005.

Why Church Planting?

The majority of LGBT people in the world today have never heard of the good news of Christ for our community, nor do they have a MCC nearby that they can attend.

We have a sacred responsibility to do everything in our power to reach out to them.

Our Church Planting Core Values:

We are called to "go out and make disciples of all nations"...

We value diversity...

We value strong, healthy, growing churches...

We value every church as a future parent or sibling church...

We value those who plant churches...

How Can We Plant Churches?

Our Mission
- To create a culture that highly values church planting

- To train current and future leaders in effective church planting techniques

- To provide resources to enable church planting to be effective

- To develop mechanisms that provide ongoing support and accountability for all those involved in church planting.

Are You Called to Plant a Church?

Planting a new church is a serious endeavor.  It requires not only a calling from God, but also the gifts, skills, resources and support to make it successful.
