Spring has sprung and so have final preparations for the MCC 2008 People
of African Descent Conference. Don’t miss out on this event as we
celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the conference. Check out the great

conference a memorable event. As we approach the last few weeks before
conference we are delighted to say that there has been an overwhelming

Hotel Accommodations UPDATE!
Due to the wonderful response we’ve had to the
conference, the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet has sold out of rooms
for Thursday the 17th however there are still rooms available for Friday
and Saturday. For those of you who have not yet made a hotel reservation
but are planning on arriving on or before the 17th we have made
arrangements for a group rate of $79 with the nearby Quality Inn Hotel
located only a few minutes away from the Sheraton. The Quality Inn
and the Sheraton have made special arrangements to provide shuttle
service between both properties to accommodate all guests attending our
conference.
To make hotel accommodation reservations for Thursday night at the
Quality Inn please call 314-291-8700. Rooms are still available on
Friday and Saturday at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside
Chalet*, to make your reservation for Friday and
Saturday nights call 314-878-1500. Be sure to mention the "Metropolitan
Community Churches PAD Conference" to get our special rate.
*The Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet
has extended our PAD Conference room rate of $110 per night beyond the
original March 21st deadline. There is only a limited number of rooms
available so don’t hesitate and make your reservation today!
Additional Hotel Recommendation: As an additional
option for accommodations during the PAD conference, the planning team
would like to recommend the Courtyard by Marriott Westport Hotel located
3 blocks from the conference host hotel. This hotel is within
walking distance of the conference hotel but also prides
shuttle service to the local area, including the Sheraton. We do
not have a group code for this property however their average
room rates are competitive to both properties mentioned above.
