GLSEN/MCC Training of Teachers Program
The Metropolitan Community Churches and
the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network(GLSEN) is excited to announce its partnership to host
GLSEN Teacher/Educator Training
Workshops across the country.
Workshops for
2008/2009 will be scheduled soon!
The GLSEN Teacher/Educator Training Workshop is specifically for
educators interested in gaining additional tools and resources to assist
in effectively developing LGBT-related trainings or education
initiatives in schools or local communities to make schools safe and
affirming learning environments for all students regardless of sexual
orientation and gender identity/expression.

Continuing
Education Units (CEU)
MCC offers
Continuing Education Units for attendance to the GLSEN Teacher/Educator
Training. All registrants are eligible for CEU credit upon
completion of the course. If you are interested in this program,
please download and complete the form below. This form will be
collected at check in and units verified at the close of training.
Certificates of completion are mailed out within two weeks of the
training session in acknowledgement of CEUs earned.
Teachers: If you
have special needs for CEU credit to meet the requirement of your
continuing education or credentialing procedures, please contact us.

NOTE:
California
Teachers will be offered a total of 8 work hours
for 1-day trainings and 16 work hours for 2-day trainings in order to
accomodate California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). The
CEU form is required for credit.

Training
Materials
The GLSEN Teacher
& Educator Training recommends the GLSEN Lunchbox Training
Toolkit. Many of the training exercises and activities included as
a part of the Teacher & Educator Training workshop come from the
GLSEN Lunchbox training toolkit. The GLSEN Lunchbox includes more than
45 training lessons designed to provide trainers, teachers, and other
educators with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to make
schools safer and more affirming places for all students regardless of
sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Registration
What you need to know:
The general registration fee for this program is $75 (as of Summer,
2007). Registrations via credit card can be placed online for
immediate processing.

Educators & Teachers wishing to register via purchase
order or check at the training may also register online for a
postponed $0.00. Purchase orders will be payable no later than 15
days before the training.
If paying by check, full registration will be due at check-in to
attend training. Checks may be sent in advance to:

Student & Low Income Registration
Fee: We are able to offer a
discounted registration fee to part and full-time college/university
students and attendees facing financial hardship.
This registration fee is $50 and is payable by credit/check card
only.

required to create an account in the online system in order to
