Course Description
Preparing, Representing, Empowering, and Planning is essential to a
successful conference for you, your congregation and the general
assembly. This workshop will assist in this preparation by
familiarizing Lay Delegates with conference materials needed for a
successful experience, how to receive congregational input on matters
requiring your vote, planning a budget for conference expenses with
local church board and much more. The workshop will also provide time
for questions and answers about how the official business is conducted,
bylaw proposals, and how to network with other Lay Delegates throughout
MCC.

Bryan's Bio
Bryan Parker was elected Vice Chair of the Lay Ministry
Council (LMC) in 2005 and he is member of the Region 5 Reconciliation
Team. Bryan celebrates his 13th year as a member of MCC Detroit where he
served as Board Member, Lay Delegate and Vice Moderator of MCC Detroit
before being appointed to the LMC in 2004.
Bryan's passion in ministry is to educate and empower lay leaders in
the area of church administration and governance. One of the ways
he does this is by conducting Board of Directors trainings for new Board
Members in Michigan, Ohio and Windsor, Ont.
Bryan is a Workplace Knowledge Management Coordinator for
PricewaterhouseCoopers and travels the U.S. frequently for his job
which allows him visit many MCC’s throughout the country.
Bryan lives in Dearborn Heights, Michigan with his partner of 14 years,
Craig Anderson.
