2007 Regional ConNEXTion Gatherings

This is a special invitation to all of the churches in our regions. It is our desire to connect with you all and we are unable to gather and worship with each church individually and we believe that you deserve an opportunity for us to hear your needs and concerns.  These gatherings are open to EVERYONE – including our pastors, church leaders and delegates at no cost to you.  It is our intent to offer these gatherings around our regions for the purpose of providing opportunities to learn and connect with one another in similar geographic areas.

MCC Los Angeles will serve as host church for the May 11th & 12th gathering in Los Angeles, CA. Rev. Elder Lillie Brock will be our primary presenter. She will focus on the journey From Good to Great: The Church Vibrancy Challenge.  This workshop will focus on how to use the concepts of church vibrancy to move your church to greatness. Whether your church is struggling, stagnant or growing, these concepts can help move you through to the next level of greatness!  If you attended The 12 Keys to Church Vibrancy Workshop that Rev. Elder Brock did a few years ago in Region 1, then this is a great follow-up session. If you were not a part of that experience, then come and add to your knowledge about vibrancy and greatness! This workshop will be practical and best of all; will provide you with strategies that you can begin to use right away!

MCC Greater Dallas will serve as host church for the May 18th & 19th gathering in Dallas, TX. Rev. Jeff Miner will be our primary presenter. He will present on Breaking Barriers & Building Disciples. What is your church’s strategy for moving newcomers from initial interest to fully-formed followers of Jesus? Do you have a specific strategy? Is it working? Most church growth experts say sustainable growth is impossible without such a strategy.

In this workshop, we will look at different “spiritual formation” models used by several leading churches and consider how those models might be adapted to an MCC setting. Specifically, Rev. Jeff Miner will share how these models have been adapted to his congregation, Jesus MCC, Indianapolis, IN which has experienced explosive growth over the past decade. (Attendance has grown from 45 to 450; weekly giving has grown from $500 to $8,500). This will NOT be a pie-in-the-sky theoretical discussion. You will leave this workshop equipped with specific practical strategies to enhance your own congregation’s spiritual formation process – and fuel holistic growth for years to come.

Just in case, you are unable to attend the session in Dallas, all is not lost. Rev. Jeff Miner will present his workshop again on October 12th & 13th in Colorado Springs where Pikes Peak MCC  will host our gathering. It is our hope that each of you will be able to join us as we endeavor to create and nurture strong connections.
