Good Hope Metropolitan Community
Church is seeking an affirming pastor with clergy
experience and an understanding of LGBTI issues, liberation theology and
inclusive language. The pastor will be the leader of the worship
team, preach one or two sermons a month and also undertake home/hospital
visits and counselling when necessary. The ideal candidate will be
interested in ministry development in order to support many and varied
ministries. Candidates will be expected to assist in sustaining the
welcoming, inclusive community atmosphere, which the
church greatly values. A heart for social justice and
efficient media presence are preferred. The pastor should be
willing to participate in Regional and International initiatives.

MCCT seeks an Executive
Director. Since 1978, MCCT has been actively at the
forefront of driving Human Rights legislation surrounding GLBT issues.
Landmark rulings around equal rights and marriage for gays and lesbians
have been advanced greatly by MCCT and Reverend Dr. Brent
Hawkes. MCCT is poised for its next level of success! To achieve
MCC Toronto’s vision to ‘Be a Bridge’, the Board of
Directors and Senior Pastor have embarked on the development of a new
organization structure to support its long term growth. The creation of
the Executive Director role is a key ingredient in this process.
Role: Working with the Senior Pastor, the Board
of Directors, through 12 staff and over 200 volunteers, the Executive
Director will be broadly responsible for the day to day operations of
the church including worship, integration and education programs.
Specifically the successful candidate will be responsible for: 1)
Strategic Leadership, 2) Team Leadership, 3) Financial and
Operational Management, 4) Marketing and Communications, and
5) Program Development.
In keeping with the senior nature and
responsibility of this new and exciting role, a seasoned professional is
sought who is a strong originator, communicator and implementer of
ideas. This individual will possess excellent interpersonal and
communications skills with the capacity to work with a broad range of
stakeholders. Building effective relationships and networking with
congregants, donors, business, government, other agencies and the LGBT
community is essential. Candidates should demonstrate in
their application the following
credentials: Bachelors degree in business or finance
or the demonstration of equivalent skills and abilities, plus relevant
professional development in leadership and management, 10+ years
progressively more responsible professional experience, 5 years
senior management level with well developed leadership skills in a team
environment, Demonstrated successful track record in initiating,
developing and leading services and programs; including fundraising,
financial and budgetary management, marketing, technology and public
relations, Significant experience with not-for-profit
organizations, including direct involvement with boards, fundraisers,
volunteers and various communities of interest, Experience in a
faith based organization is ideal.
