Executive Director’s Report from Kerry Lobel
As a denomination, we are losing traction. Over the past 5 years, among the 20 largest churches we have 52 more members now than 5 years ago. In the same period, attendance has dropped by 20,000. At the same time, per capita and overall giving have increased slightly.
As the spiritual leaders, our primary task is to be Truth Tellers.
Willing to work with the BOA to study Kerry’s report.
Transfer to Rev. Dr. Cindi Love, Executive Director
Tipping point: In epidemiology, the concept that small changes will have little or no effect on a system until a critical mass is reached. Then a further small change “tips” the system and a large effect is observed. This effect is very similar to the “crown fire” phenomenon in forest wild fires.
Financial management/fund development/asset management

Implications:
1. Lack of training for Elders
2. Immersion into radically different cultures without access to supports that are needed to navigate the cultures
